Random Chat / Re: Aero seal that will outlast the car?... look here...

Just bought a mk1 and the seal is mint, the guy has another mk1 for sale so if you need a few parts I know where one is selling but it’s £500. I think there is a mk1 for sale on here a few months back for £175. Worth that for the seal alone!!
Wanted / Re: Front axle nut cover, retaining clip and rear boot brake light assembly

Thanks Dave but I think I'll super glue fill the hole and add a touch of nail varnish. Had a Ford Granada Coupe back in the day and had to nail varnish the tail lights because they faded to almost clear and the MOT boys liked red tail lights. Thanks again.
I have used ones from Alfa in the past, need a fair bit of work to make them fit .Not perfect but better than nothing.
Alfa fitted theirs inside the rear window so the unit is protected from the elements. They are slightly narrower than the Pug one,I just put an extra layer of adhesive foam on them to fill the gap combined with a seal of silicone. They also have a flat lens instead of the sloped Pug one.

They have to be drilled and bolts fitted to the rear casing for fitting or permanently glued in place and of course the wiring needs adapted.

Think I have a few spare in the shed if your up for a challenge.

Hi Peteinoz, Thanks for the reply post and welcome your suggestions/ comments.  There is someone in Bulgaria found on eBay item #224329260820 offering a similar repair fix.  Cost around £42 + post £8.00 + duty (I guess).  I also read about maybe using donor unit from an alfa but did not get to the bottom of this thus far.  I think this was from member Scotsdave.  So I continue to investigate the various options.  Thanks so much.

Still waiting for leads on my other minor items.  Keep searching.  Thanks again....spike

all good
HI Spike. the third brake light assemblies are almost impossible to find. There are quite a few hacks to get around these and in fact i have rebuilt a couple with LED strips and just using the lens cover and back frame and connectors.

as long as you seal around the lens well it should be ok and the LED's will outlast the car. But finding a complete assembly is like finding a needle in a haystack. some guys have also used similar from other vehicle . so if u search here u will find which other cars work.

Good luck
