For Sale
« on: June 26, 2019, 09:57:07 PM »
Hi All,

I've tried to get the wife on board with my cab but she just hasn't taken to it, so sadly its up for sale.

This is the advert I've listed - let me know if you're interested.

In really lovely condition has been looked after over the years and I've enjoyed it loads. Roof works very well, no leaks and according to the previous owner, the owner before him replaced the hydraulic pump for the roof, it does work very well. Interior is in good condition with upgraded head unit with Bluetooth and hands free. Always starts and we have driven all over the county, never misses a beat and is the powerful 2 litre 16v, goes very well. As with any car of this age there are age related marks but no rust.

Long MOT
122,500 miles
Electric windows all greased
Two new tyres on the front
Cam belt and water pump done 1800 miles ago
New hydraulic pump for the roof
New discs and pads 1500 miles ago
Clutch has been done, but don’t know at what mileage
Refurbished 17in Alloys
Upgraded lighting.
DAB radio
Serviced/oil Changed 2500 miles ago
Roof hinges all oiled
Interior valeted

Thanks, it's a shame to have to sell her. Hopefully someone is looking for a good clean example.  :)

Really gutted, went to a dealer in my local area to get a PX valuation and it came up on their system as a cat C write off in 2011. Couldn't believe it as the car is so tidy, the chap I bought it off only had it about three years and there's nothing on the V5, so I'd imagine he had no idea either. School boy error, should have run a check - at least I didn't pay big money for it or invest money in it.

Cheers

Ed

wow

How did u get it registered?? Over here any writeoffs are either permanent or statutory which means for parts only or REpairable and need a special re examination before they can be registered.

my last repairable was a 206 hatch for my son with 60k miles. cost me $400 . the damn inspection cost me more to register it after i sorted the airbags and seat belts out

In the UK we have 4 categories for damaged cars

A, B, S(was C) and N(was D)

A:

Scrap only. For cars so badly damaged they should be crushed and never re-appear on the road. Even salvageable parts must be destroyed

B:

Body shell should be crushed. Signifies extensive damage, although some parts are salvageable.
Should never re-appear on road, although reclaimed parts can be used in other road-going vehicles.

S (was C) :

The new Category S means the vehicle has suffered structural damage.
This could include a bent or twisted chassis, or a crumple zone that has collapsed in a crash.
Category S damage is more than just cosmetic, therefore, and the vehicle will need to be professionally repaired.

Also, it won’t be safe to drive until then.

N (was D) :

Vehicles graded accordingly haven’t sustained structural damage, so the issue may be cosmetic, or a problem with the electrics that isn’t economical to repair.

Don’t assume such vehicles are drivable, however; non-structural faults may include brakes, steering or other safety-related parts.

you would think MOT would have picked up it was a writeoff from VIN and engine number

no, once it's passed its VIC test its treated like a normal car till you come to sell it, you have to declare its category which normally has an affect on the price and in some peoples eyes its desirability.
